Today is a day to wear Orange.

At the Strait Regional Centre for Education it is Orange Shirt Day today.

Students, parents, guardians, families, staff, volunteers and community partners are encouraged to wear an orange shirt. By wearing an orange shirt, it’s an acknowledgement of the ongoing harms of residential schools to Indigenous peoples as they continue to heal.

This event is being held in advance of Monday’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
