Organizers behind the STFX Students Union Charity Day deemed the event a success.

During their fundraising drive on Saturday, students raised $2752.15 which they will give to the Antigonish Affordable Housing Society. From 9 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, around 30 students collected funds on Main Street and at the Antigonish Farmer’s Market.

STFX Students Union President Francisco Chang said, with the event not running last year, they didn’t know what to expect this time around in terms of a response, adding it turned out great.  

Chang said they are already looking at next year and how they can improve engagement. He thanked the community for the response, and the students for coming out.
