He’s got a new grandkid and a new job.
Allie MacDonald, who served with the Halifax Mooseheads as their chief Atlantic scout and
educational advisor, is the new assistant general manager with the team. He spoke about the new position while calling from Germany, where he is visiting his recently born grandchild.
MacDonald, who coached and taught in Antigonish for several years, said he and the team discussed the new position for some time. He will remain as the education advisor with the team, noting the organization prefers having a hockey person in the role so as to better communicate the importance of education to players.
As for his new role, MacDonald said he will be closer the final decisions on the structure of the team and the day to day operation of the organization.
