donation of land by the Antigonish County Municipality to her organization for its latest project.  County Council agreed to contribute the property on Appleseed Drive to the society at a special meeting earlier this week.

Cameron says they’re delighted because it’s a perfect spot for the development, within walking distance of schools.  It’s a 12 unit complex; a combination of one, two and three bedroom apartments; four of them barrier-free.

Cameron says much of the funding for the project has already been secured.

Another local group that has supported the project is the Antigonish Community Energy Co-op.  The development has been put out to tender.  A start date for construction hasn’t been determined.
