The Antigonish Chamber of Commerce honoured its best last night with a Business Awards Gala.
The Young Entrepeneur Award recipient was Shandra MacMaster of MacMaster Ventures: Logistics Solutions Limited. The Export Recognition Award was presented to Tidal Salt, while the Emerging Business Award recipient is Bayside Travel Centre.
The Outstanding Customer Service Award was presented to two people, Catherine Almanzor of Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Maggii Pelly of Microtel Antigonish. Typically this award is given to one employee, but the judge’s votes this year ended in a tie, so there are two recipients this year.
The prestigious Ian Spencer Excellence in Business Award was presented to Monastery Petro-Canada.
The executive director of the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce, Lauren Kaiser, says there were a number of nominees for the awards.
The gala was held in St. Andrews last night, with about 160 people in attendance
