Carty was named Traditional Singer of the Year for her record “Crossing the Causeway” at the Canadian Folk Music Awards held in St. John’s, Newfoundland over the weekend.
“Crossing the Causeway” is Carty’s second album, fusing tradtional pieces, instrumental tunes and original songs.
