Questions came up about the behaviour of local university students during last night`s regular

Antigonish Town Hall
monthly meeting of Antigonish Town Council.
Over the weekend, police charged five people under the Nova Scotia Health Protection Act for failing to social distance, while issuing another three charges under the noise bylaw, and four more under the liquor control act. This comes after four StFX students were fined $1,000 for not self isolating.
Mayor Laurie Boucher said the town, the council, the RCMP, StFX, and the hospital are all taking the matters seriously. She said she met with the university on Monday morning, noting the school is committed to following through with their community code of conduct.
Some questions came up regarding the four students fined for not self isolating. Boucher said it is something she will look at.
