An award-winning violinist, vocalist and composer with ties to Northeastern Nova Scotia is returning to Antigonish. Donald MacLennan grew up in Inverness County and took the diploma program in Jazz and Jazz Studies at St. FX University.
MacLennan will be performing at the Justamere Cafe Thursday night from 6 to 8 pm. He’ll be joined on stage by Mike Dalton on guitar and Nick D’Amato on double bass. MacLennan will be performing music in the gypsy jazz style, which has its origins in France and Belgium..
MacLennan, who now lives in Dartmouth, says he’s excited to return to Antigonish.
MacLennan says he’ll be performing selections from his award winning album “Belleville”, some songs for a new record he’s working on, and a couple of Christmas tunes. Tickets are now on sale at the Justamere Cafe.
