Inverness Municipal Council met yesterday.

During the regular monthly meeting in Port Hood, MacIsaac and Gillis were both acclaimed to their positions, with no other councillors coming forward for either position.

MacIsaac was named warden last March after the death of former Warden Laurie Cranton, and Gillis became deputy warden at that time, when MacIsaac moved from the position.

Both MacIsaac and Gillis said they were happy to have the support of their fellow councillors, and given that council lost two members since the 2020 election, it’s important there be some continuity within council until the next election in 2024.

MacIsaac and Gillis were first elected to council in the 2020 municipal election, with MacIsaac representing district 3, Inverness and area, while Gillis is the councillor for the area covering Judique to Port Hastings
