Provincial Health officials say there are 17 new cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.  Sixteen of the new infections are in the Central Zone, including one  connected to St. Margaret’s Bay Elementary school that was reported Tuesday evening.  The other case is in the Northern Zone

related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada.   There are 127 active cases of COVID-19

Nova Scotia Health Authority’s labs completed 3,295 Nova Scotia tests on Tuesday.

There were 247 tests administered at the rapid-testing pop-up site in Halifax and 453 at another

site in Wolfville.  One positive test was identified at the Wolfville site.  That person has been directed to self-isolate and referred to a standard test.

Since October first, Nova Scotia has completed 69,559 tests.  There have been 243 positive COVID-19 cases and no deaths.  No one is in hospital.

The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Strang says he’s pleased that case numbers in the province have remained relatively low in recent days.  However he adds this does not mean that Nova Scotians can ignore the restrictions in place to limit the spread of the virus.  He says everyone must do their part by wearing a mask, adhere to gathering limits, practice social distancing, wash your hands and avoid non-essential travel in and out of the Halifax area.
