The Antigonish Community Fence of Fame to Add Gail MacDougall and Glenna Ingraham at a ceremony at The Sandlot

The Antigonish Community Fence of Fame is adding a couple of names this weekend.

Gail MacDougall and Glenna Ingraham will see their named names placed on the Fence of Fame  on Sunday at 10 a.m. at The Sandlot. The informal event is open to the community to attend.

Randy Crouse, Antigonish Challenger Baseball Coordinator, say both MacDougall and Ingraham were nominated by members of the community for their work in coaching and volunteering with youth sports over the years. Crouse said when they first had the idea for the Sandlot Field, the premise was to have a place where everyone could come out to play and be a place to celebrate the players, coaches, and volunteers who make the community what it is.

MacDougall coached the girls basketball team at Dr. JH Gillis for 39 years, notching over 900 wins in that time. She also coaches minor basketball.

Ingraham coached with Antigonish Minor Baseball, challenger baseball, and the North Nova Highlanders baseball for over 18 years, and was named Baseball Nova Scotia’s coach of the year in 2021.
